Mashhad, Iran — In a strategic collaboration with the Research Committee of the Mashhad Faculty of Pharmacy and the Health Innovation and Idea Generation Center, Safa Rahaia recently hosted a specialized Perfumery Bootcamp on January 1st and 2nd.
The opening ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, including Dr. Ali Rohbakhsh, Vice President of FDA at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, and Ms. Zahra Hajzadeh, Head of the Cosmetic and Hygiene Products Department.
Day One: Scientific Foundations of Perfumery
The inaugural day focused on the scientific and practical pillars of perfumery. Participants delved into essence identification, raw material analysis, formulation principles, and the art of Olfactory Notation. The curriculum also covered Michael Edwards’ Fragrance Wheel and olfactory families, providing attendees with a hands-on experience of these fundamental concepts.
Day Two: Industrial Approaches and Market Dynamics
The second day transitioned toward industrial applications. Key topics included authoritative perfumery resources, raw material sourcing, and practical workshops on scent compounding, balancing, and creating group fragrances. The sessions also addressed the physiology of the olfactory system, concluding with essential insights into marketing, branding, and regulatory frameworks within the fragrance industry.
